Referral and partner terms
Version 1, in effect from 24 October 2026
These terms cover AskBell's referral links for businesses, its partner programme for resellers, agencies and territory partners, and its campaign links. They are a first draft. The parts in [square brackets] are for our lawyer and chartered accountant to settle before anyone relies on them.
Referrals are for businesses signing up
- Every business on AskBell has a referral link (askbell.app/r/…) and a code.
- When a business that signed up through your link — or typed your code within the first days — first pays for a plan, your business earns a plan credit: free months of a plan, as shown on your Referrals page. A credit is earned once per business you bring, however often it pays.
- A credit is time on a plan, never money. It cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred or sold. [LAWYER: whether credits expire, and what happens to unused credits when an account closes.]
- The business that joins may get a discount on its first payment, when we offer one.
- Never for reviews or answers. Referral rewards are only for a business signing up and paying. Nobody may be offered or given anything for writing a review, giving a rating, or answering a form a particular way, and referral links must not be used to do so. See our Honest feedback rules.
What does not count
- Your own business, a business you are a member of, or a business that shares people with yours (self-referral).
- Visits more than 60 days before the business signs up (the attribution window; the first link opened in that time is the one that counts).
- Businesses created to earn credits, or any other abuse. We may cancel credits that were not earned fairly, and we may change or end the referral programme for the future; credits already earned stay.
Partners
Resellers, agencies and territory partners join by written agreement with us, not by these terms alone.
- A partner has its own link (askbell.app/p/…). A business that signs up through it, or that we record as the partner's after it signed up in person, is attributed to that partner.
- Commission is a percentage of what the business actually pays (after any discount and less any refund) during a set number of months after its first payment, as the partner's agreement states. The rate in force when a business joins applies to that business.
- We record commission as it is earned. [CA and LAWYER: when and how commission is paid; the paying entity (Newtact Lab Private Limited (OPC) in India, Thaja FZE LLC elsewhere); invoices from partners; TDS and GST; KYC; minimum payout; holds for refunds; currency.] Until that is settled, no commission is paid.
- Commission is earned only on revenue, never for recruiting other partners. [LAWYER: confirm the programme is not direct selling or a money-circulation scheme.]
- A partner may not present itself as AskBell, run paid ads on our name without our written consent, or promise anything we do not offer.
- Partners see their businesses as codes, never by name or with their customers' answers.
Campaign links
Our own campaign links (askbell.app/c/…) only tell us which campaign brought a visitor. They never take a business away from the business or partner who referred it.
Privacy
What we record about a visit through any of these links is described in Cookies and storage: no IP address, deleted after 90 days.
Changes
We may change these terms for the future. Credits earned and commission recorded before a change keep the terms they were earned under.
