Messages we send
Version 1, in effect from 24 October 2026
This page lists the messages AskBell sends, and how to stop the ones you don't want.
What we send
- Sign-in codes, by email or SMS, only when you ask to sign in.
- Codes for private forms, by email, only when you ask to open a form that is protected with an email code.
- Bad-feedback alerts, when a form gets an answer its business wants to hear about quickly: by email, by push notification to the AskBell phone app, and by WhatsApp once that is live.
- Checklist reminders, for checklists set up in AskBell.
- A Monday email to a business's owners and admins, with last week's answers and scores, only when there were answers.
- Plan and payment notices, about your plan and the payments for it.
- Replies from a business you gave feedback to, by email, and only if you said yes when its form asked whether it may contact you, and gave an email address. They are written by someone at the business and sent on its behalf, from AskBell's address with the business's name on it; your answer goes straight to the business. A business can send at most five replies about one answer, and a limited number a day.
How to stop them
- Alerts and checklist reminders are set for each form by its owner, who can switch them off.
- The Monday email can be switched off for each business under Account.
- Push notifications can be turned off at any time in your phone's settings for the AskBell app.
- Sign-in and private-form codes are sent only when someone asks for one, so there is nothing to switch off. If you get a code you did not ask for, ignore it.
- Plan and payment notices are sent only when something about your plan or a payment needs your attention.
- Replies from a business: open the "don't contact me again" link at the bottom of the email (your mail app may also show an Unsubscribe button), or reply STOP to the business. After that, the business can no longer email you through AskBell, about that answer or any other, for good.
App usage statistics
The phone app asks before it collects anonymous usage statistics, and you can change your answer in the app at any time. See our Privacy policy.
No marketing without a separate yes
We never send you marketing unless you have said yes to it separately. Making an account, buying a plan or answering a form is not a yes to marketing.
Messages that pretend to be us
We will never ask you to send us a sign-in code, a password or card details. If a message asks for one, it is not from us: please don't reply, and tell us about it.

We answer every message to that address. If you are writing about your own data — to see it, correct it, or have it erased — say so in the subject line and we will treat it as a formal request under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
